Boston Festivals & Shows
It's party time in Boston! From beer to art, books, food, film, community and comedy, the city has an event planned to celebrate it all. Mark your calendar for one or all of these unforgettable events.
Forget first-run films and check out what you've been missing at the Independent Film Festival Boston
. This festival offers the opportunity for you to see excellent films that may not have had a wide-release, serving to remind the public that just because the film didn't have a huge budget, doesn't mean it isn't a masterpiece. International films, short films, documentaries and more are all screened at the event.
If you'd rather have your nose stuck in a book than do anything else, then the Boston Book Festival
is an event just for you – but you'll have to put down what you're reading to get there. The festival features live book readings, lectures and open discussions with professional authors, and of course, books! Food and fun are also a part of the event so count yourself in on the Boston Book Festival.
Wine connoisseurs, get your tickets to Chef Daniel Bruce's Boston Wine Festival
, one of the nation's longest-running wine events. This isn't your typical, two-day festival; the festival spans three and a half months and hosts a few events each week. The 23-year-old event features wine tastings, paired with signature dishes created by Chef Bruce. Throughout the history of the Boston Wine Festival, the menu has never been repeated.
Celebrate your love for beer at the Boston Beer Summit
. The festival features over 200 beers from 60 regional, national and international breweries. From world-renowned brews to original recipe blends, you'll try some of the best beers around at this event.
Pick out the next piece of art for your collection at the Boston International Fine Art Show
. The festival showcases art works from over 40 galleries from around the nation and in Europe. Works featured include paintings, photography, sculpture, mixed media and more. The event is considered to be one of New England's premier art shows.
Let the American Craft Beer Fest
help you choose your new favorite American brew. This event is the east coast's largest celebration of American-made beer; over 100 breweries convene to bring you a huge selection of beers made right here in the U.S. You'll have the opportunity to try over 500 brews, although we don't suggest it! Be sure to drink responsibly and make plans for transportation after the festival.
America's fight for independence began in Boston, so what better way to celebrate Independence Day than in the place where it all started? The Boston Harborfest
is the city's week-long celebration of American independence, and on July 4th the festival moves to the Charles River Esplanade for a great view of fireworks and patriotic music by the Boston Pops.
Support the local economy by hanging out at the Boston Local Food Festival
. The event features food harvested locally, that same local food cooked up into yummy and healthy dishes, a variety of craft booths, live music performances, demonstration booths, and locally-made wines and craft brews. You'll learn a lot about Boston and the people who live here at this home-grown festival.
Bring your sense of humor to the Boston Comedy Festival
. This popular event has brought some of the funniest comedians in the business to Boston, including Louis CK, Joan Rivers, Dennis Leary, and Lewis Black. Aside from stand up performances, the festival also features improv performances, sketch comedy, and hilarious independent films.

. The festival has it all, from entertainment to food, activities for everyone, vendor booths featuring local businesses and much more. The event benefits local businesses, so show your support by attending the South Boston Street Festival.
